| Murf's Wood Build PC Case |
|---|
I initially built a wood PC case, but used the wrong type of wood. It would not hold a stain, so I ended up painting it black. Well the purpose of the wood case was so you could see the grain of the wood, and also just something to do. The hardest part of the initial case was the motherboard tray, I/O card brackets. So lessons learned I decided to purchase a metal motherboard tray. This made it a lot easier in the building process. I used OAK and applied 2 coats of Gunsmoke stain then 2 coats of Ebony stain to highlight the grain and finished it with a clear coat. The wood dragons were cut out of Oak also the Red dragon is a UV Reactive Applique. |
| The case has a 120mm fan in the rear, a 92mm blow hole fan and 2-80mm fans in the front. Both fans on the side are 80mm. Currently my i5 Quad processor is running below 40c for all 4 cores, so the case is cooling the system well. I used sound proofing material to line the case, which has quieted it down significantly. |
