Searching for Help on Microsoft support sites can be frustrating, but you can make it easier if you follow these steps.
When you arrive at the search page you will see the following:
http://search.microsoft.com/us/default.asp

Referring to the above diagram
1. Enter the exact word / phrase / product name where I entered "Regedit"
2. For Search criteria select "Exact Phrase"
3. For "search category" select "Support & the Knowledge Base" to find help & error
articles. You will usually receive back 50 titles.
4. When searching for help with an error message you have received selecting
"Boolean Search" for your "search criteria" will probably work best.
5. Use abbreviations such as Pub, Off98, XL2000, WD2000 Etc.
Experiment with the other possible selections to learn what type of results you get
with them.
